INTELLIGENT Presented at BRIDGE Workshop

On 5 March 2026, the INTELLIGENT project participated in the 1st CCE WG Smart Tools Workshop: AI developments and compliance frameworks, organised by the BRIDGE Secretariat. The online workshop gathered representatives from Horizon Europe energy projects, EU institutions, industry and research communities to discuss the role of AI in energy systems and its alignment with the EU AI Act.

During the “Project Spotlight” session, partners R2M Solution Spain and Technical University of Munich (TUM) presented INTELLIGENT’s AI/ML services, focusing on AI-based flexibility optimisation and peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading mechanisms. The session also featured the ENFLATE project, which presented its AI-driven solutions for sustainable and efficient public transport.

AI in local energy markets

The presentation showcased how INTELLIGENT applies AI/ML technologies to enable active participation of citizens and energy communities in local energy markets, supporting optimisation of energy flows and market interactions. It also highlighted the integration of AI into trading mechanisms and grid-aware services, ensuring more efficient and flexible energy systems. Particular attention was given to compliance with the EU AI Act and the project’s approach to developing trustworthy and transparent AI solutions.

Strengthening collaboration within BRIDGE

The workshop brought together around 50 participants from leading EU-funded energy projects, fostering exchange on AI applications, regulatory challenges, and future collaboration opportunities.

INTELLIGENT’s participation reinforces its active role within the BRIDGE Consumer and Citizen Engagement Working Group (CCE WG) and contributes to ongoing discussions on AI adoption in energy communities. The activity will also feed into the BRIDGE Annual Report, further increasing the project’s visibility at EU level.
