From Pilots to Policy: INTELLIGENT Project takes local energy trading to Enlit 2026 in Vienna

Announcement: The European energy transition is gaining powerful new momentum through peer-to-peer (P2P) trading innovations, and the INTELLIGENT project will be featured at this year’s premier global energy event, Enlit!

We are excited to announce that INTELLIGENT will join the EU Projects Zone at Enlit this year. Make sure to visit our Cluster booth to learn more about our project and engage directly with the team.

Summary: Combining blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, and open-source digital architecture, the European INTELLIGENT project lays the foundation for a decentralized, fair, and efficient energy-sharing model for citizens and local energy communities.

Funded under the EU’s Horizon Europe program, the INTELLIGENT project introduces a transformative approach to energy decentralization by enabling peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading and smart flexibility management. Moving away from rigid, predefined allocation models, the project builds an open, modular ecosystem across four integrated layers: a secure data backbone powered by Energy Web technology, AI-driven optimization engines, a decentralized market platform (GSY DEX by Grid Singularity), and intuitive, user-centric interfaces. This structure empowers citizens and local energy communities to step beyond the role of passive consumers and actively trade green energy tailored to their local network conditions and individual preferences.

The modular solution is currently being validated through real-world pilot sites across Europe to demonstrate improved cost and energy efficiency, system reliability, and higher community engagement. This year, the INTELLIGENT project will take the stage at Enlit, sharing its key insights, technological achievements, and vision for democratizing local energy systems with the wider European and global energy community.
