R2M acts as a bridge between the research activities promoted by the European Union and the market, specifically within the fields of the Built Environment, Energy, and ICT. Its mission is to aggressively target the gap between research results and market disruption, ensuring that innovative ideas reach society.
Role in the project: As the Project Coordinator, R2M Spain oversees the administrative, financial, and technical management of the INTELLIGENT consortium, ensuring alignment with EU objectives. Beyond coordination, R2M leads the project’s Innovation and Data Management strategies and drives cooperation with key European initiatives like BRIDGE. On the technical side, R2M contributes to the management of distributed energy resources (DERs), focusing on the optimisation of energy flows to maximise “km0” energy consumption.

R2M manages the process from the initial stages of conceptual design and basic research through to field testing and market entry. By operating at the intersection of science and industry, R2M Italy acts as a vital bridge, bringing research to the market and market insights back to research.
Role in the project: R2M Italy plays a crucial role in user engagement by leading the design and development of the project’s User Interfaces (UI), ensuring the complex underlying technology remains accessible to energy community members.
