INTELLIGENT Platform is developed as a grid-aware, automated energy exchange, based on the GSY DEX open-source software.

Decentralised Open-Source P2P Trading Marketplace Leveraging Blockchain Technology

We’re building and validating a fully functional technology tool to operate decentralised P2P marketplaces, based on the open-source GSY DEX software. Our focus is to address network constraints, enable new trading mechanisms and matching algorithms and support multi-attribute orders to facilitate multiple user preferences.

Integration of Data, Interoperability and Secure Exchange of Information

INTELLIGENT allows for secure and privacy-embedded data integration. The Grid Data Exchange Enabling Suite is employed as middleware, interacting with data analytics and machine learning tools to facilitate forecasting, metering and grid planning services, while tracking low-carbon products and their attributes throughout complex supply chains.

Flexibility and Energy Optimisation Tool

INTELLIGENT brings a highly adaptive system for managing energy flows for local energy community members. The system is ML/AI-based, implementing optimisation methods for predicting pivotal inputs. While boosting local flexibility, it also enables accounting for preferences of community members, like energy costs, maximum exploitation of renewables, comfort needs and consumer convenience.

CELL – Collaborative Energy Living Lab

Location: Buochs, Switzerland

A three-building compound that boasts internal generation of power.

Bicesse Kindergarten and Feirense Football Stadium

Locations: Cascais and Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal

This heterogeneous pilot consists of a kindergarten and a football stadium that produce and share their own energy

LIC – Lugaggia Innovation Community

Location: Capriasca, Switzerland

A neighbourhood energy community of 18 houses and a kindergarten, optimised for solar energy production.

An island energy community off the west coast of Ireland, with a range of equipment installed.

The EU-supported INTELLIGENT project (December 2024 – November 2027) brings together 15 partners and associated partners: top R&D centres and universities, SMEs, NGOs and public bodies, including distribution system operators and local energy communities. Together, we work on advancing P2P energy trading technology, making it more accessible, secure, and efficient.
